OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2012. Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen held a working meeting with Anton Zavalkovsky, Director General of CJSC Investlesprom.

Investlesprom, the largest forest industry structure in Russia, owns in Karelia Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill, Medvezhiegorsk Timber Industry Enterprise, Segezha Woodworking Plant, as well as other woodworking and logging companies. The present team of managers has come to the holding in February and has taken an active part in the restoration of normal work of Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill after it stood idle in the beginning of the year.

Matters at the meeting concerned activities of the pulp and paper mill and related productions, increasing of logging volumes.

Anton Zavalkovsky has told Alexander Khudilainen that one of the primary tasks is re-structuring of the management structure of Investlesprom in Karelia and provision of the transparency of financial activity of its branches. At that, Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill works steadily at the moment.

Head of Karelia has paid the attention of representatives of Investlesprom to the necessity of putting things in order concerning the logging activity of the holding. At the prescribed cut of 1,7 million cubic metres, by the end of the year it will be logged only 1 million cubic metres of timber. Anton Zavalkovsky mentioned that with accession of the new team to power Karelian enterprises of the holding head for timber cutting using their own resources, without selling standing wood to foreign companies. The complex of forestry machinery has been generated, 53 kilometers of forest roads will be constructed that will allow to prepare for a winter logging season well.

Prospects of modernization of the pulp and paper mill and the next cold season in Segezha were also discussed at the meeting.
