OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2012. A World Trade Organization panel ruled in favor of the United States in a case against import duties imposed by China on grain-oriented electric steel used in power transformers.

The panel concluded that China had acted inconsistently with WTO rules governing the use of countervailing duties.

China determined in April 2010 to impose antidumping and countervailing duties against imports of the steel from the United States. The US responded to the case by filing an appeal with the TWO on September 15 of the same year.
