OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2012. The station for an advanced vehicle examination opened at the international motor transport checkpoint "Vystupovichi" at the Zhytomyr Customs

According to the press service of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, the facility was included in the list of the infrastructure projects within the preparation for holding the final part of the European Football Championship Euro-2012 in Ukraine

The press service continued that the construction of the station at the motor checkpoint "Vystupovichi" had commenced in 2009. The total project cost was estimated at 6.4 million UAH, the total construction budget up to completion amounted to 6.1 million UAH

"Commissioning of the station of advanced vehicle examination at the international motor transport checkpoint "Vystupovichi" will ensure the implementation at the regional level of the main purpose of the customs service, namely creation of the favorable conditions for foreign trade development, public safety and protection of the customs interests of Ukraine," – the officials put in their statement

In addition, an increase of commodity turnover and passenger traffic is provided, as instead of the existing four, seven lanes can be used to enter Ukraine, to allow for a greater differentiation of cargo traffic and a significant optimization of customs formalities, making them more transparent and understandable

"Operation of the station of advanced vehicle examination will enable us to take measures to prevent from and combat smuggling and violations of the valid customs rules. The proper control will also be executed over compliance of the entities engaged in foreign economic activities and the citizens with the legislative bans and restrictions on the movement of certain goods across the customs border of Ukraine, blocking the products, which fail to meet quality requirements guaranteeing the safety of life and health of our citizens," – read the statement
