OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2012. RTI OJSC and Nokia Siemens Networks have concluded a strategic partnership agreement in the sphere of telecommunication technologies. The agreement was signed in the frame of the 16th Petersburg International Economic Forum, reported the press-centre of Sistema. 

RTI OJSC and Nokia Siemens Networks, the key partners of the Skolkovo Foundation, have concluded a cooperation agreement which will be an important step towards centralization of the cores activities aimed at telecommunication solutions development based on this site. The companies plan to set up the steering committee and the workgroups which will carry out the efforts along certain telecommunication directions. Their scope of activities will include development and modelling of such innovative technologies as LTE, Active Antenna Systems (AAS), Beamforming, and also the technology of Wi-Fi offloading of mobile networks Internet traffic. All above-stated names and technologies hold the Russian and international patents or pending patents.

"The ultimate objective of the steering committee and the workgroups activity is selecting the initiatives on which RTI and Nokia Siemens Networks will jointly develop cooperation with the possibility of placing the applications for the Skolkovo grants. We also plan to develop the SITRONICS Labs АNО capacities in the area of radio physics," said Sergey Boev, RTI OJSC General Director.

"We are sure that our cooperation with RTI OJSC on the basis of Skolkovo will allow to create an effective platform both for new development, applicable in the international telecommunication projects, and for bringing the existing solutions closer to requirements of the Russian market which is a strategic market for us," added Kristina Tikhonova, head of Nokia Siemens Networks in Russia.
