OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2012. Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LCI) has nominated crude oil refinery ORLEN Lietuva to be the Lithuanian Exporter 2011. Despite turbulences in global oil market, last year ORLEN Lietuva managed to increase the scope of exports, reported the press-centre of ORLEN Lietuva.

In 2011, ORLEN Lietuva sold 7.5 MM tons of oil products in foreign markets, and this amounts to 84 percent of the total quantity sold. In 2010, the Company exported 7.2 MM tons (or 82.8 percent, respectively). Sales in all domestic markets within 2011 increased by 0.6 MM tons (18 percent).

"Situation in global market remains unpredictable, therefore we are going to keep focusing on sales and improvement of performance," said Ireneusz Fafara, General Direcor of ORLEN Lietuva.

General Director also noted that within last year the Company managed to realize key improvements in modernization of refining processes and use of more effective feedstocks. In 2011, investment program in the value of 40 MM USD was also completed.

The list of potential nominees included the most advanced Lithuanian companies playing very important role in the development of domestic economy. Applicants were evaluated according to the headcount, total scope of production or services as well as increase in exports within fiscal year. This time, evaluation criteria also included such factors as the scope of investments, implementation of new technologies, introduction and application of international management and quality standards.
