OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2012. PetroChina held a celebrating ceremony in Jakarta for the 10th anniversary of its operation in Indonesia, and was awarded the excellent operation prize by Indonesian BPMIGAS (BADAN PELAKSANA KEGIATAN USAHAHULU MINYAK DAN GAS BUMI). PetroChina Vice President Bo Qiliang, on behalf of CNPC and PetroChina, and officials from Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources attended the ceremony, reported the press-centre of CNPC. 

In his address, Mr. Bo spoke highly of the outstanding achievements made by PetroChina International (Indonesia) in the past decade. He also said that PetroChina will expand the scope and scale of cooperation in Indonesia, and will always be committed to its social responsibilities to promote mutually beneficial development.

In 2002, PetroChina acquired all of Devon Energy's assets and operations in Indonesia, launching its cooperation with Indonesia's oil & gas industry. Over the past decade, PetroChina International (Indonesia) has continually enhanced its exploration and development activities by taking advantage of PetroChina's proven technologies as well as its management experience.

As a result, its production reached 5.67 million tons in 2011, over two and a half times that of 2002. Now the company is operating 8 E&P projects efficiently, and has grown to be the seventh largest oil company in Indonesia, supplying a stable source of energy to support local economic development.
