OREANDA-NEWS. July 03, 2012. Roland Berger representatives participated in the SPIEF 2012. As part of it, Dmitri Zaitsev, Senior Partner of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants Russia, CIS gave his interview to TV channel CNBC.

Dr. Uwe Kumm, Managing Partner of Roland Berger, Russia, CIS and the Baltic States and Dmitri Zaitsev, Senior Partner of Roland Berger, Russia and CIS participated in the 2012 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The forum's agenda coincided with the key issues of Roland Berger’s Global Topics Initiative, “Project 2012: The year that will change the world”. The idea of the project is to identify key issues and develop scenarios for the global community in response to the political and economic policy changes that may follow presidential elections in four countries: Russia, the USA, China and France. The key topics of the study are financial sector, energy, social security and welfare.

Commenting on the results of Roland Berger's participation at the 2012 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Dr. Uwe Kumm said: “Time is of the greatest value at the Forum. In two days it is possible to hold so many interesting meetings that is often not possible to do in three months. As international consultants, we were mostly interested in the events devoted to the work of the financial markets, international investment and partnership of Russian and the EU countries. A separate session was devoted to the developing economies, the topic that is also closely followed by us. Roland Berger’s latest research contains information about the volume of the investment needed to the developing countries in the near future”.

At the Forum Dmitri Zaitsev gave interview to the leading American business channel CNBC. The conversation touched on the themes of the financial state of the euro zone, the importance of the international economic situation for Russia and the questions of interaction of political and economic spheres in the country.

Talking about the consequences of dept crisis in the euro zone for Russia, Dmitri Zaitsev commented, “All these events have a significant impact on how Russia, how Russian trade and export is balanced and how Russia will be positioned in the future game with the EU. Fundamentally on the long run, I would suggest, Russia still has pretty significant potential to be a reliable and attractive partner and, of course Russia should continue to play a significant role in attracting the foreign investments in this booming market”.

Commenting on the privatization of Russian companies, Dmitri Zaitsev marked: “There are a lot of signals given now regarding further moves towards privatization and liberalization of many sectors. I think we should wait until the actions come or the signals will be executed”.

In conclusion Dmitri Zaitsev said: "Over the past two decades Russia has gone through a lot of movements in the social and political-economic sphere. Russia remains one of the very attractive emerging economies. Those who are going to develop the business for long term can take advantage of new prospects. All the issues we face here are quite similar to what we observe in other fast growing economies. I think it’s just a matter of time to resolve them”.
