OREANDA-NEWS. July 03, 2012. KAMAZ increases exports in order to strengthen its position in the Ukrainian truck market.

For five months of 2012, KAMAZ’s market share has been 23% in the segment of heavy trucks (over 16 tons payload). At the same time, the Russian automaker is the undisputed leader in the segment of dump trucks: the company occupied 47% of this market in 2010 and about 60% in 2011.

Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ is taking various measures to strengthen its position in the Ukrainian market. Thus, 6 dealers, 3 subdealers and 7 KAMAZ certified service centers sell KAMAZ vehicles and service them in Russia to date. 29 certificated service stations were opened.

The company is constantly expanding the range of products for sale: new models of vehicles are introduced in the Ukrainian market every year. According to Sergey Afanasiev, General Director of Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ, this year the company will actively promote the KAMAZ-5308 medium-tonnage truck which was tested and modified in the Russian market.

The rising oil prices make vehicles running on natural gas or LPG more popular. OJSC KAMAZ expects that NGVs will be the core of the automobile market of the future. Since 2011, the company has been promoting CNG vehicles in the Ukrainian market. For example, more than 50 such KAMAZ vehicles were delivered to Donetsk last year, and soon a service center for trucks running on natural gas – methane – will be certified.
