OREANDA-NEWS. July 04, 2012. Belarus is likely to produce a budget surplus in 2012, Belarus’ Finance Minister Andrei Kharkovets told.

“There are obvious factors, which indicate that the budget will be executed within the specified range – it will be a zero-deficit budget. Furthermore, we hope to produce a budget surplus to some extent in order to provide financial guarantees for next year’s budget expenditures,” the minister said.

The minister reminded that one of the conditions of the government’s plan to alleviate the financial crisis and prevent excessive inflation growth had been a zero-deficit budget for 2012.

According to the new edition of the budget plan adjusted by the Finance Ministry, the 2012 republican budget revenues are projected at 94.011 trillion rubles (USD 11.202 billion), and expenditures at 93.919 trillion rubles. Hence, in 2012 Belarus is expected to have a deficit budget on Br91.9 billion (USD 11.086 million).
