OREANDA-NEWS. July 04, 2012. Belarus has approached Caracas with a proposal to establish a fertilizer sales hub in Venezuela and expand further across Latin America. Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko made a statement to this effect in an interview with the Venezolana de Television TV channel in the run-up to the forthcoming visit to Venezuela.

According to Lukashenko, in the future Belarus may participate in the projects in Venezuela to develop the fields of natural resources, in particular phosphates and produce nitrogenous fertilizers in the long run. Being a big producer of potash fertilizers, Belarus is ready to create a huge center in Venezuela to mix fertilizers and sell them across Latin America. There is a great need for that, Lukashenko said.

Furthermore, Belarus is ready to assist Venezuela in developing its own chemical and petrochemical industries, consumer electronics and television set production, Lukashenko said.
