OREANDA-NEWS. July 05, 2012. Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Transaero Airlines, invites passengers to visit the most romantic city of the world, Paris. The flaming Gothic of Notre Dame, royal luxury of Louvre, the most recognizable lady of France - the Eiffel Tower, and the sugarloaf of Montmartre are now much closer than before. The Boeing 737 flights from Domodedovo to Paris-Orly Airport will depart each Wednesday and Saturday.

- Moscow Domodedovo Airport congratulates our strategic partner, Transaero Airlines, upon the permission to make regular flights from Moscow to the capital of France. Paris is a new route for Domodedovo Airport. The passengers can book the flights for the dates starting from July, 28, - said Igor Borisov, Director of the Airport.

Paris route is the fifth one opened by Transaero from Domodedovo Airport in 2012: starting from January the airline operates flights to Seychelles, from March – to Erevan, from April – to Los Angeles; the airline also plans to open a new weekly flight to Venice.

Thus the total number of routes operated by one of the largest carrier in Russia from Domodedovo at the beginning of June, 2012, has exceeded 90, the number of flights has grown by 14.8% for the period from January to May, 2012, in comparison with the same period of the previous year; and the passenger traffic has increased by 17.2%.

Transaero Airlines Company was founded in 1990. It started to operate flights in November, 1991. It is the second largest airline in Russia and is among the top world carriers on tourism and recreation routes. The route network of Transaero includes more than 160 routes in Russia and Europe, Asia, America, and Africa.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport in passenger traffic in Russia. In 2011, the airport served 25,701,610 people, which enabled it to become one of the largest airports in Europe according to the ACI classification. Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been chosen for flights to Moscow by members of the world's leading aviation alliances - Star Alliance, oneworld. Since 2009, Moscow Domodedovo Airport tops the list of the best airports in the Eastern Europe by quality of service, according to an annual survey by the independent research company Skytrax Research (UK).
