OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2012. For the 23rd time in its history Russia held the celebration of an Olympic Day which is annually celebrated in the whole world in honor of the establishment of the International Olympic Committee. By tradition the main part of the celebration took place in the Grand Sports Arena of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex which hosted a sports area with 35 different athletic fields. More than three thousand sports lovers and healthy lifestyle devotee attended the celebration. Different athletic fields invited guests to play basketball, volleyball and football as well as learn how to play floorball and freestyle footbag. Besides that, guests could try rock-climbing walls, learn to shoot a bow, try trampoline jumps, play a game of chess with a grandmaster and much, much more. The celebration combined sports, education and culture with outdoor activities and entertainment. The Moscow-held celebration was organized by the Russian Olympic Committee with the aid of the Moscow Government.

Ingosstrakh Insurance Company acted as a partner of the XXIII All-Russian Olympic Day and also insured the liability of event organizers. Besides, all attendees had the opportunity to acquire special sports insurance policies against accidents and injuries. The employees of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company actively participated in all sports games and competitions. Notably, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company soccer team took the second place at the football tournament.

The XXIII All-Russian Olympic Day was dedicated to the Games of XXX Olympic Games in London. The attendees of the celebration had the opportunity to learn more about the forthcoming London 2012 and about the sportsmen who will represent Russia, to support them, to visit master classes with famous sportsmen – winners of different Olympic Games. Within the XXIII All-Russian Olympic Day the first teenager soccer tournament "Olympic Hopes" took place. It was initiated by the Teenager Football League, the Professional Football League and the Russian Olympic Committee. Similarly to the previous year celebrations, this year's program included the traditional international marathon with 450 runners willing to participate. Totally only the Luzhniki Stadium saw 800 amateur sportsmen taking part in different races held within the Olympic Day 2012. The Moscow-held celebration ended with festive fireworks.

Numerous celebrations dedicated to the XXIII All-Russian Olympic Day also took place in all parts of the country. Popular and spectator sports competitions were held at stadiums, in park alleys, in children's holiday camps, mini-parks and public gardens, green spaces, in main thoroughfares and central squares of the cities.
