The press conference of Baosteel CSR Report 2011, whose the theme called as "to build shared values" and the opening ceremony of establishment of Baosteel Mineral Wool Science and Technology (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. was held in the Baosteel Group Mansion. Mr. He Wenbo, the General Manager of Baosteel Group Co., Ltd. and Mr. Chu Xuping, the Deputy of Research Bureau of State Asset Regulatory Commission attended the ceremony, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

In addition, the leaders and representative on behalf of the relevant parties interested attended the ceremony exchanged the seeds (shown as the photo) that placed their hopes and dreams, which symbolizing they working together in close cooperation to build a better future in sincerity, friendliness, creativity for Baosteel.

In the conference hall, a series of short films presented some piece of wonderful picture in a row, with the background of dynamic music, which given everyone a strong visual and auditory shock. The social responsibility undertaken by Baosteel in 2011 was vividly described in the Chapter of Staff, the Chapter of community, the Chapter of Supply Chain in the short films, all of these review the latest practice of social responsibilities undertaken by Baosteel in aspects of value creation, integrity management, environmental improvement and staff, community, supply chain. In session of common commitment, the representatives from various industrial units under Baosteel Group interpreted their a green dream, and they made a commitment seriously, and expressed Baosteel Employees' deep understanding of development of the iron and steel industry in the future and the responsibilities undertaken by them.

It was the first time that such conference was shown in way of live broadcast by Baosteel official microblog of "Friendly Baosteel", during the conference, the host invited the common people to participate in the interactive actitivties. Many netizens   have made their comments on the internet, while the comments was transmitted and displayed on the TV screen synchronously in rotation in the conference hall.

Baosteel CSR Report 2011, as the fourth report, Baosteel has been issued the CSR Report for four years in row. It shows Baosteel's sincere nature of abiding by the humanities and social norms, contribution made to the community self-consciously, feedsback to the nature and new wisdom of business, efforts in pushing forward advancement of science and technology continuously, innovation in business model, creativity, all of these reflected Baosteel's brand positioning of building a shared value.

The chapter of Environmental management is one of the highlights of the report. It was the first time for the Report to reveal the targets, content and achievements of environmental management of Baosteel. The report covered the cases of social responsibility practice made by its subsidiaries in each chapter, in turn, it encourages more subsidiaries to publish their own social responsibility reports.

In terms of the content, the report revealed some pertinent data selectively, which presents completely and objectively what Baosteel had done to undertake its social responsibilities in 2011. The report truly became an effective communication bridge between the different parties. For example, It put much emphasis on the overseas business development of Baosteel in the report, and it focused on many aspects, such as, development of employee, community relations, customer service, the achievements what Baosteel had obtained in fulfiling social responsibilities overseas.

The report firstly revealed the investigation results according to the findings in the following aspects, such as, environment-friendly non-steel industrial products, marketing and service networks, e-commerce, environmental accounting. The report also was oriented on theme of building the shared values, for example: on the cover of this report, it was designed with a bridge that connects Baosteel and the relevant parties interested extended to the far distance, which is a symbol to work together to build a great future with good faith, love and creativity. In addition, a so-called digital two-dimensional code was firstly applied in the report, which allows the relevant parties to find out the report more easily, in turn, it can save the paper reports.

On behalf of the State Asset Regulatory Commission of the State Council, Mr Chu warmly congratulated Baosteel on having released Baosteel CSR Report 2011.

He said: "To be one of the world-class leading companies should have the following essential qualities, such as, upholding the noble values, pursuing on the values beyond making profits, innovation in making better world, everlasting vitality." He stressed that a corporate not only should undertake the social responsibility, but also for all organizations, and also for the duties of every citizens. Fulfiling the social responsibility not only can be regarded as one set of values, or a spiritual pursuit, but also it is a lofty sentiment. He hoped that Baosteel make still further efforts to become a great world-class enterprise. Meanwhile, every individual should start to create more shared values for development of Baosteel, social development, progress of the nation.

In his speech, Mr.He Wenbo expressed the appreciations to all of the friends who are careing about Baosteel, supporting to Baosteel and be accompanied with Baosteel to make a bright future. He said that much attention on the development of Baosteel paid by all the parties from the society was the inexhaustible power for the employee of Baosteel to live up to their expectations and to make a great contribution to the society contiously. Looking out to the future, Baosteel was fullly implementing an strategic plan involved with changes in many aspects, from iron and steel making to material, from manufacturing to services, from China to the world, all of these pushed Baosteel forward to become an enterprise at the great prospects, in which Boasteel would be a pioneer with advanced technologies in making iron and steel, a force to promote green industry, an excellent typical exampler of mutual development between employees and enterprises.

He added that fulfiling the corporate social responsibilities had been an inseparable part for Baosteel in all works and business, and the commitments made will never be changed. Baosteel as always follows with the basic principles of value creation, integrity management and environmental improvement and fulfills their social responsibilities. The environmental management has significant influences on day-to-day management activities, therefore, Baosteel does carry out the businesses oriented around the three major targets, that is, "green manufacturing, green products, green industry". On the road of progress, perhaps, Baosteel may confront many big and tough challenges, but, nothing can stop us from steping forward firmly.
