OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2012. This was announced on July 10 at the second meeting of the construction control panel for Nizhniy Novgorod NPP. “Today, there is full mutual understanding between all participants of the pre-construction stage,” Valery Limarenko, Director of NIAEP, the management company of ASE, noted. “My special thanks to the Nizhniy Novgorod Region Government, which is taking an active part in the project implementation in the territory of the region,” he said.

The meeting attendees included the management of Rosenergoatom (customer of the construction) and of the united company NIAEP-ASE (architect general of the plant). Interests of the region’s residents were represented by heads of related ministries of the region (ministry of construction, ministry of community services and fuel and energy) and the head of Navashino District where the plant will be sited.

The main topic of the meeting was a discussion of issues related to the work areas and volume at the pre-construction stage of Nizhniy Novgorod NPP. In particular, as per the decision made earlier, the issue of producing the design documentation for the preparatory period and construction stage of the plant was addressed.

“The structure and staff schedule of the Navashino Branch of NIAEP are in place, and recruitment is underway,” Igor Kruuz, the Director of Udomlya Branch of NIAEP (after commissioning of Kalinin NPP Unit 4 in commercial operation he will lead the construction of Nizhniy Novgorod NPP) reported to the attendees. “At present, the legal registration of the branch is in process, including with the taxation authorities. Our position of principle is that the branch must be registered in the construction regions to have all taxes received by local budgets,” he said.

During 2012 the staff of contractors, customer and principal contractor of the construction should be provided with offices.

“The pre-construction stage of NPP will take two years. The nearest plans are to prepare for laying railways and access roads to the construction site,” Limarenko specified the work scope before journalists. “We are solving the issue of housing for the construction workers already now; we plan to build 4 apartment houses in Navashino. We will start building two of them this year,” he added.

To remind, the first meeting of the construction control panel for Nizhniy Novgorod NPP was held on April 4, 2012.
