OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2012. Federico Ghizzoni , CEO of UniCredit visited Ukraine in the frames of Institutional Mission.

Mr. Ghizzoni was accompanied by Mr. G.F. Papa, Head of CEE Division of UniCredit and Mr.G.Scognamiglio, Head of Public Affairs of UniCredit.

The program of the Mission was launched with the informal meeting with Mr. Fabrizio Romano, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Italy in Ukraine. The key event within the Mission was meeting with the owner of “System Capital Management” Mr. Rinat Akhmetov, Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Mr. Igor Viacheslavovych Sorkin and the representatives of the Ukrainian Government: Mr. Petro Poroshenko, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and Deputy Prime Minister and Mr. Boris Viktorovych Kolesnikov, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

Within these institutional meetings several important aspects of the Group banks' current activity in Ukraine were highlighted, especially its development plans as well as Group long-term plans in terms of business activity as a whole on the territory of Ukraine and specific issues concerning the financial situation in the country, inflation expectations and monetary policy of the NBU.

From PJSC “Ukrsotsbank” management side Mission was accompanied by Mr. Boris Timonkin, CEO of PJSC “Ukrsotsbank” and Mr. Grazziano Cameli, General Manager of PJSC “Ukrsotsbank”.

The visit of the Group management in Ukraine underlines undeniable importance of UniCredit’s presence on the local market as well as the willingness of the Group to provide further support to the subsidiary structures.

During the visit Federico Ghizzoni continually highlighted that: “Group UniCredit that is presented by two subsidiaries PJSC “Ukrsotsbank” and PJSC “UniCredit Bank” doesn’t intend to leave Ukrainian banking market as it is convinced in high potential of this country”.
