OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2012. On 6 July, two Vodokanal’s branches: Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal became holders of the Confidence in Employer Certificate.

It is not for the first time that Vodokanal St. Petersburg gets this Certificate: the company’s achievements in the exercise of labor rights of its employees were already awarded in 2010.

The official award ceremony was held in Smolny in the framework of the meeting between the managers of territorial labor (Rostruda) agencies and executive bodies responsible for labor issues in the North-West Russia’s subjects. The Governor of St. Petersburg G.S. Poltavchenko addressed his words of welcome to the participants and pointed out that the main task of any enterprise should be creation of good-quality, safe workplaces for its employees.

The St. Petersburg employers are awarded the Confidence Certificate under the project “Declaring the company activities in relation to the exercise of employee’s and employers’ labor rights”. The project is being implemented by the State Labor Inspection in St. Petersburg with the support of the Federation of Trade Unions of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region and the Regional Association of Employers “The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of St. Petersburg”.

The Certificate confirms that the organization observes labor rights of its employees. It means timely payment of salaries and wages, social insurance, creation of safe working conditions for employees, etc.

The register of employers which guarantee observance of the employees’ labor rights is posted on the website of the State Labor Inspection in St. Petersburg. Now, Vodokanal’s branches – “Water Supply of St. Petersburg” and "Wastewater Disposal of St. Petersburg” are entered in the register besides Vodokanal itself. All in all, there are 61 employers in the register at present.
