OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2012. 183 new cars of various models were discharged onto the reconstructed storage areas of Automobile Terminal at Commercial Port of Vladivostok for Toyota Motor – authorized importer and distributor of Toyota and Lexus cars in Russia.

New cars arrived at the port on RO-RO vessel from the Japanese port of Nagoya, later they will be distributed to dealerships in the Russian Far East. By the end of this year the share of the new cars handled via the port of Vladivostok for Toyota Motor is forecast to rise.

The share of new cars in the overall car import volume is planned to be increased from 18% (in 2011) up to 25%. Therefore storage facilities for new cars have been brought into compliance with the standards of leading foreign car makers.

Open storage areas were modernized as follows:

•           Parking spaces were increased in size;
•           Vehicle counting, security and firefighting systems were upgraded;
•           Security fencing was installed;
•           Port logistic system was reviewed with special transshipment zones allocated.
