OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2012. Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, participated in a meeting on promotion of natural gas as a motor fuel. The meeting was held in the central office of JSC Gazprom in Moscow.

The event was attended by Russia’s ministers, directors of the leading oil companies and major automobile manufacturers – OJSC KAMAZ, GAZ Group, Machinery & Industrial Group N.V., etc. The participants of the meeting considered the main issues concerning the development of the gas fuel market in Russia.

Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, talked about OJSC KAMAZ’s production of NGVs at the meeting devoted to the development of gas engines and commercial equipment production.

An exhibition of NGVs was also held there. KAMAZ natural gas vehicles were presented by Rafael Batyrshin, Director General of RariTEK – KAMAZ’s distributor of NGVs. The participants of the meeting could see eight models: the KS-55713-5K-1 mobile crane (6x6), the NEFAZ-4208-10-41 special bus (6x6), the AROK dual-purpose vehicle with a crane manipulator (6x6), the mobile gas refueler (6x6), the KAMAZ-6520-34 dump truck (6x4), the KAMAZ-65116-34 truck tractor (6x4), the Minipac MK-2 rear-dump garbage truck, and the NEFAZ-5299 city bus.

The use of natural gas as a motor fuel is becoming more and more popular. More than 80 countries have already started using natural gas. Every year, the NGV fleet is growing by 26% on average. The world`s leading automakers produce more than 80 models of NGVs. The Russian fleet of vehicles running on natural gas numbers about 86 thousand units. And, serially producing over 20 models of cars with gas engines, KAMAZ is ready to ramp up production introducing high-quality and reliable products to the market.
