OREANDA-NEWS.  July 16, 2012. Implementation of the program for payment of state compensation for the feeding and maintenance of young cattle has contributed the growth of calves in households. Since the beginning of the Program the number of cattle increased by 0.4% and continues to grow. This was announced today, on July 11, at the briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers by the Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

"As for today, we see that the dynamics of the increasing of head of livestock in households has been improved. Thus, from June to July, we see growth in the number of livestock for 0.2%, and as for today the growth is 0.4%, and this dynamic can be seen in the future" - said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

In addition, the positive results of the program suggest that such special measures to boost dairy may give an impetus to increase production in other sectors of the livestock.

"We got the task of the Government to work out other areas of state support for individual farms. Thus, we will motivate the development of sheep and poultry in compliance with the quality of production and marketability of these products ", - said the Minister.
