OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2012. CNPC kicked off its largest independently designed and constructed fertilizer project of 450Kt/a synthetic ammonia & 800Kt/a urea at Ningxia Petrochemical Company. The project is expected to be completed in 14 months, reported the press-centre of CNPC.

With a planned investment of RMB 2.67 billion, the project is going to build a capacity to produce 1,500 tons of synthetic ammonia and 2,640 tons of urea per day, leading the industry in terms of proprietary technology and major consumption indexes in China.

The groundbreaking for Ningxia Petrochemical’s Fertilizer Project happened on July 10, 2011. The project is expected to be delivered in three parts, i.e. utilities by the end of June 2013, synthetic ammonia and urea plants by the end of August 2013 and project commissioning by the end of October 2013.

When operational, Ningxia Petrochemical will emerge as the largest domestic fertilizer manufacturer with an annual capacity up to 3 million tons, making Ningxia an important fertilizer production base in China.
