OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2012. WSD announces the latest "World Steel Enterprises Competitiveness" rankings . Listed with a total of 35 companies, Baosteel ranks the fifth. Compared with 14th place last year, nine place is increased, reported the press-centre of Baosteel. 

Located in the United States, the headquarters of WSD is an international iron and steel consultancy, who provides great reference value of research reports.

During this ranking process, WSD does a comprehensive evaluation of the iron and steel enterprises in the world according to their scale, capacity expansion, near the downstream users, the domestic market bargaining power and other 23 evaluation indexs. Selected as the top ten world steel enterprises also includes: Posco from South Korea, Lipetsk Oblast from Russia, CSN from Brazil, Severstal from Russia, JSW Steel from India, SAIL from India, Nippon Steel from Japan, Nucor from the United States, Sumitomo Metal from Japan.

Respectively, other four mainland Chinese iron and steel enterprises are listed: Ansteel 22nd, Shasteel 23rd, Wuhansteel30 th, Masteel 32nd.
