OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2012. UTair Aviation and Airbus have signed a long term contract with Airbus for the delivery of 20 A321 during the 2012 Farnborough Air Show in England. The A321 aircraft are medium range jetliners designed for the comfortable accommodation of 220 passengers. UTair plans to use these aircraft on popular international tourist and domestic flights. The initial delivery of A321 aircraft will begin in 2013.

"The contract with Airbus for the delivery of new A321 aircraft demonstrates our firm commitment to maintaining growth and consolidating our position among the leading Russian Airlines,'' said UTair Aviation CEO Andrey Martirosov speaking about the deal. ''A321 aircrafts were selected to be a part of our fleet modernization program to match the company's policy for the provision of safety, comfortable air travel and our drive to improve service and develop the UTair route network.''
