OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2012. Farnborough International Airshow - 2012 (FIA-2012), one of the world’s major airshows, finished its work. This year UAC’s companies showcased what they consider to be their best products across commercial, military and transport aviation sectors including Yak-130, MC-21 and SSJ 100 aircraft, reported the press-centre of UAC.

For the first time, Yak-130 fighter-trainer took part in the air show’s flight program. Also for the first time, the Sukhoi Superjet 100 made an appearance at the static display in Aeroflot’s livery. The MC-21 program was presented in the specially allocated demonstration area, where a full-scale mock-up of the flight-deck and the passenger cabin along with the mock-ups of the aircraft engines PD-14 and PurePower® PW1400G were accommodated. Also the prototypes of the landing gear, composite wing box and optional passenger seats were displayed at the MC-21 pavilion.

The UAC’s companies have received 46 firm orders for SSJ100 and MC-21 aircraft in the first six months of this year. The contract for 35 MC-21 aircraft was signed at the II International Forum “Engineering Technologies 2012”. Mexican Interjet airline transformed an option for five aircraft into a firm order at FIA-2012 following a firm contract with Transaero airlines for six SSJ 100 aircraft announced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. These figures indicate a good growth rate of the orders backlog.

Showcasing the successful development of MC-21 program, a number of contracts with key partners and suppliers were signed. Irkut Corporation and Russia’s export credits and investment insurance agency signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the area of MC-21 export deliveries insurance. Some essential agreements were signed with Zodiac Aerospace Group on interior system and airborne hardware design project as well as on power primarily distribution system development. Irkut Corporation (a part of JSC United Aircraft Corporation) and Jeppesen (a part of Boeing Flight Services) concluded a 5-year agreement on cooperation on MC-21 aircraft program. This document stipulates that Jeppesen will provide a package of services to Irkut Corporation.

At present, UAC’s key aim in the civil aviation segment is to ensure SSJ 100 production volume growth as well as to ensure successful development of the MC-21 aircraft in accordance with the schedule.
