OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2012. Under the KAMATEYNER project, a model of KAMAZ 65117-62-783820 equipped with the BDF-PNEUMATIK system lifting and lowering a detachable body.

The new vehicle was developed jointly with Prioksliy Machine-Building Plant and produced in Nizhny Novgorod. The model features a remote control system removing a body and an adapter for standard twenty-foot containers with folding legs. These options enable to simplify and speed up various loading and unloading operations.

The KAMAZ-65117 vehicle has got all the advantages and potential of earlier models. Technical innovations ensure its consumer properties which were confirmed during certification and operational tests. KAMAZ-65117 is designed for transportation of cargoes weighing up to 15.5 tons.

After redesign, performance of the model was greatly improved: load capacity was increased by 8%, specific fuel consumption was reduced by 10%, and the useful life was increased by 15%. This KAMAZ vehicle can lift the heaviest loads, and it is successfully used for intercity, interregional and international transportation. After redesign and installation of a brand-new cab, KAMAZ-65117 has got technical and operational characteristics close to those of its foreign analogs. To date, the vehicle is equipped with a powerful 300 hp Cummins 6 ISBe diesel engine with a cubic capacity of 6.7 liters and a 9-speed ZF gearbox.

It should be recalled that the KAMATEYNER project is, in fact, KAMAZ’s development of the 70-ies which aims to speed up delivery by five times and increase profitability of transportation. Nowadays, more and more companies start using removable containers (swap bodies) for transportation without the use of handling equipment. According to KAMAZ’s analysts, the market is ready for tens of thousands of mobile containers – including those in the form of tanks, refrigerators, mixers, and other superstructures.
