OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2012. Irrigation program for the Government is long term program, and it will be implemented not only in Kherson region, but also in Crimea and other regions. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this during his working trip to Kherson region. In particular, Mykola Azarov visited the main pumping station of the Main Department of Kahovka supply channel, where he got acquainted with its work, as well as prospects for the use and development opportunities of the station to meet the needs of agricultural producers of south of Ukraine.

"Our task is the water supply to our people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This problem is in the Kherson region, and it will be solved. The funds will be allocated" - Mykola Azarov said during his visit to the pumping station.

He also recalled that at yesterday's meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers it was discussed the problem of water supply and irrigation system development in Ukraine.

"This trip was planned long ago to on-site to see how implementing a program of rehabilitation of irrigated land. This is especially true with regard to significant climate change" - the Head of Government said.
