OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2012. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted draft law as the law in first reading in general “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On some issues of import to the customs territory of Ukraine and the registration of vehicles”. On January the 1st, 2013 Ukraine will be appropriate for bringing cars with environmental standards from the level of “Euro-3” standard (environmental standard, regulating content of harmful substances in exhaust gases of vehicles with diesel and petrol engines).

Then, gradually, the environmental safety requirements will be raised:

from the level of "Euro 4" standard – starting from January the 1st, 2014;

from the level of "Euro 5" standard – starting from January the 1st, 2016;

from the level of "Euro 6" standard – starting from January the 1st, 2018.

The adoption of this law will affect the structure of import cars in Ukraine. Chip used cars that do not meet strict environmental standards, will be virtually impossible to bring to Ukraine; they will be gradually displaced by the more expensive current models.
