OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2012. A 320m long section drivage of the span between Krasnogavrdeyskaya and Alma-Atinskaya metro stations of Zamoskvoretskaya line has been completed. The tunneling started on 22 May with TBM coming already out to reception shaft near Klyuchevaya street on 11 July. In a half-year period "Herrenknecht" TBM has fully completed its job having constructed two complicated water-logged spans under the Gorodnya river.

The construction works were performed ahead of schedule, twenty-four-hour. The average driving rate has accounted for 10m p/day, the tunnel diameter is 6m. The TBM was operated on a shift basis by 4 professional groups of Mosmetrostroy workers. In the nearest future the TBM will be dismantled and taken to construction site near Yugo-Zapadnaya station of Sokolnicheskaya line to perform 2km long section tunneling towards Troparevo station, which is under construction.

Therefore, a 3km long span between Krasnogvardeyskaya and Alma-Atinskaya stations is ready for the next stage of works concerning engineering systems installation and laying of track superstractures. Tunneling works, which will be finished in September, are being performed in the other span. In situ concrete vault construction works are at the final stage at Alma-Atinskaya station; finishing works have been started. Under — and above ground vestibules are still being constructed along with turn-around dead ends and a traction substation. The station commissioning is projected by the Moscow City Government on December, 2012.
