OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2012. Tata Quality Management Services (TQMS) has organised a two day workshop on creativity and leadership at Hotel Alcor, Jamshedpur which began today. The objective of this workshop is to equip the principals, the vice principals and the coordinators comprising the school leadership team, with personal effectiveness and leadership skills. Twenty five participants from eighteen schools participated in this Workshop.

The two-day programme aims at motivating the participants and will encourage them to reflect on classroom practices, to provide opportunities for group learning as well as to give a holistic exploration of the entire process at an individual level. At the same time the sessions also target to help the participants understand the requirements of the learners and ways of effectively addressing them. The training programme is being conducted by Dr Gururaj Karajagi, (M.Sc., Ph.D) Chairman, and Founder Director, Academy for Creative Teaching, Bangalore.

An excellent educationist herself, Ms Surekha Nerurkar, member of the Executive Committee of Tata Steel Education Excellence Programme (TEEP) inaugurated the workshop. Mr N K Sharan welcomed the chief guest and the other participants at the beginning of the programme.

With the aid of Audio-visuals, power point presentations, case studies, analogies and games, Dr Karajagi covered relevant topics such as Creative Teaching, Innovation, Creative Leadership and Ethics in Teaching.
