OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2012. Tata Steel registered hot metal and crude steel production of 2.05 million tonnes and 1.82 million tonnes respectively for Q1 FY’13, higher by 5.67 percent and 1.67 percent Y-o-Y.

Major highlights Q1 FY’13

Best ever hot metal production of 2.05 million tonnes in a quarter (previous best was 1.96 million tonnes in Q4 FY’12).

Sales were marginally lower Q-o-Q on account of power outages which impacted downstream production.

Performance of recently commissioned plants (I blast furnace, LD #3 and TSCR) was satisfactory.

Other highlights

Tata Steel topped the list of India’s 50 most-admired companies in a survey compiled by Fortune India and global management consultancy Hay Group.
