OREANDA-NEWS. July 25, 2012. ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. and JSC Atomenergoremont, a dedicated maintenance company for the nuclear plants, have signed a Memorandum of Agreement within the framework of activities aimed at improving production effectiveness and launching the mid-term development program of JSC PIMCU. The Memorandum states the parties’ commitment to work together on a number of projects for maintenance, upgrading and reconstructing plant equipment. For this purpose, JSC Atomenergoremont is going to open a branch office in Krasnokamensk, Trans-Baikal Region.

The final decision regarding collaboration will be ratified before the end of 2012, and the scope of work will be finalized once the bidding process has been completed.

Tigran Khachaturov, the acting Director General of JSC Atomredmetzoloto, noted that “Cooperation with Atomenergoremont is crucial for us in two key areas. Firstly, JSC PIMCU intends to reduce the maintenance time, thus improving equipment capacity. Secondly, enhanced maintenance quality will enable the plants to reduce non-scheduled service. Ultimately, this will help to increase the effectiveness of the production process.”
JSC Atomenergoremont, which is a subsidiary of JSC Rosenergoatom Concern, serves as the general subcontractor for all Russian NPP maintenance projects. The company is one of the industry leaders in implementing Rosatom Production System (RPS) projects. In 2011, JSC PIMCU also carried out a range of activities to introduce the RPS into their production process.
