OREANDA-NEWS. July 26, 2012. A special attention will be paid on the improvement of the road infrastructure in the historic part of the city within a road construction works in Astana in 2012, head of passenger transport and automobile roads department of Astana city Rashid Amanzhulov said at the press conference on July 12.

Rashid Amanzhulov said that works in the historic park of the city will be started with the reconstruction of four traffic arteries of the capital- Bebitshilik Street, Moldagulova Street, Mirzoyan Street and a construction of a pedestrian bridge through Kunayev Street to the opera and ballet theater, which is now under construction.

“In the first half of the year, we have repaired and opened traffic on Orynbor Street, Pushkin Street, Zhumabayev Street, the road to the HES, the western half-ring (Syganak, Sarayshyk), which let to relieve the center of the city. So, we will close vehicular traffic on Beibitshilik Street, Moldagulova Street, Kunayev Street and Myrzoyan Street on Friday. The purpose of these projects implementation is to improve engineering networks in the historic part of the city. Beibitshilik Street was built in 1962, so it has never been capitally repaired," he said.

"The work will be carried out from July 14 to August 31. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Also, residents and services, located there, will be informed with schemes of detours," Rashid Amanzhulov said.

Deputy Head of Department of Road Police of the Department of Internal Affairs of Astana city Bakhitzhan Malybayev introduced participants with schemes of these streets detours.

"On 14 July, a traffic movement will be limited on Beibitshilik street, on the road from Bogenbai Batyr avenue to Yesenberlin street, on Moldagulova street, on the road from Zhenis avenue to Republic avenue," he said.According to Bakhitzhan Malybaev, a detour of Kunayev street will be also provided ??on Sarayshyk Street, Kabanbay batyr avenue, Turan Avenue and Dostyk street.

The need for simultaneous overlap of traffic and conducting road construction works is explained by the fact that this requires a significant amount of work on the arrangement of utilities. The road reconstruction work will provide a replacement of heating systems, water supply and sanitation. Also, a reconstruction of utilities and additional parking spaces, widening of the carriageway, as well as landscaping, including lighting, greening, construction of sidewalks and walkways with an installation of new traffic lights, road signs and other technical means to control traffic movement will be provided in the framework of the project.

So, the project of these two streets reconstruction is aimed on a comprehensive solution of social and economic issues, which will improve the quality of citizens’ life.

A reconstruction of Mirzoyan Street was included to the plan of road construction works on 2012, due to the need of bringing into compliance the infrastructure of this district to the growing needs in water supply, sewerage and transport loads on the road from Momyshuly street to Talgar street.

The reconstruction project of Kunayev Street includes the construction of a pedestrian bridge to the opera and ballet theater, which is under construction now, as well as the accomplishment of adjoining territory.
