Over 16 years the Games has evolved from an international children’s competition into an Olympic project under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The experience of Yakutia is held up as an example for other subjects of the country. This is an enormous achievement which, at the same time, places on us a big responsibility. We must provide for holding the “Children of Asia” Games at a high organizational level. An important factor is the provision of modern communication services at the sites where the competitions will be held. We are happy that our partner in fulfilling this task is MegaFon, an advanced universal telecom operator with which we have been successfully cooperating for a long time”.

‘The “Children of Asia” Games is the first in the sequence of large-scale sports projects, which are supported by MegaFon’, points out Yuri Zhuravel, ‘This relay of sports events will be continued in 2013, when the XXVII World Summer Universiade in Kazan will be held, and the culmination will be the XXII Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi that will be held in 2014. MegaFon is the General Partner of these competitions. And the “Children of Asia” Games have their unique place in this sequence, as it is very important to promote a love of sports since early childhood when the human personality is formed. Holding the competitions of such level will create a huge incentive for children to go in for sports and achieve high results.

This will help them to become goal-oriented, responsible, self-disciplined people. The other undeniable positive result of such competitions is the creation of modern sports infrastructure in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), which will allow the residents of Yakutsk and other cities of the region and the whole Far East to go in for sports throughout the year. We, in our turn, are ready to render all necessary support to the “Children of Asia” Games as far as telecommunication technologies are concerned’.
