OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2012. In June 2012 the passenger flow rate at Pulkovo Airport amounted to 1 231 239 people, which represents 18.1% increase against June 2011. The rate of international passenger flow to CIS and non-CIS countries for June 2012 amounted to 723 636 people (+ 19,3% against the number of passengers carried over the same period in 2011). The domestic passenger flow rate amounted to 507 603 people (+16,5%).The number of takeoffs and landings for June 2012 increased by 13% and amounted to 13 092 operations. The volume of the handled maximum takeoff weight was 435 700 tons; the increase as compared to the same period in 2011 came up to 13,1%.

At the end of the first six months of 2012 the passenger flow rate at Pulkovo Airport amounted to 4 898 182 people (+18,5%). The rate of international passenger flow to CIS and non-CIS countries for the first six months of 2012 amounted to 2 607 944 people (+23,4%). The domestic passenger flow rate amounted to 2 290 238 people (+13,3%). The number of takeoffs and landings for the first six months of 2012 increased by 11,2% and amounted to 58 915 operations. The volume of the handled maximum takeoff weight was 1 934 469 tons; the increase as compared to the same period in 2011 came up to 12,8%.

At the end of the first six months of 2012 the absolute growth of passenger flow rate was observed on international routes such as UAE, Egypt and France (against the same period in 2011). The significant increase of flights to Moscow, Ufa, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnoyarsk, Minsk, Urgench and Samarkand was recorded on domestic and CIS routes.

The XVI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum – one of the key event of Russian political life – was held in June. During this period 766 flights carried guests and participants of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum were handled; the increase as compared to the same period in 2011 came up to 41,3% (542 flights in 2011).
