OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2012. In January-June 2012 the operations of the Open joint-stock Siberian Energy Coal Company (SUEK) won 47.7 mln tonnes of coal. Compared to the same period of the previous year the production grew by 7%.

The sales volume in January-June 2012 went up 2% against the same period of the previous year, amounting to 45.8 mln tonnes of coal. The domestic market sales decreased by 1%. As many as 27.5 mln tonnes of coal were sold to consumers within Russia, with 21.7 mln tonnes from the above amount shipped to electric power-generating facilities.

The international market coal sales went up 7% and amounted to 18.3 mln tonnes of coal; the Company's own coal exports grew by 12% and amounted to 17.1 mln tonnes of coal. The major international consumer markets are China, South Korea, UK, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Poland.
