OREANDA-NEWS. August 02, 2012. The United States supports Ukraine's determination to redouble efforts to implement the measures mentioned in the Action Plan to improve the protection of intellectual property rights in Ukraine, adopted in 2010 (hereinafter - the Plan) on human rights in favor of Ukrainian and American inventors and authors.

The United States also welcomed the planned increase in Ukraine inspectors on intellectual property as provided in the Plan and the ratification by Ukraine of a new Customs Code, which will improve procedures for customs valuation.

This is stated in a joint statement of the U.S. Trade Representative Ronald Kirk and First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Khoroshkovskyi, which was issued after the fourth session of Ukrainian-American Council on Trade and Investment.

At the Council for Trade and Investment meeting have also been addressed a broad range of issues including intellectual property rights, improving the investment climate solving the problems in bilateral tradeand cooperation in taxation, agriculture, customs, aviation and space fields.
