OREANDA-NEWS. August 6, 2012. Belarus saw the consumer price index grow 1.8% in June 2012 to compare with 1.6% in May, 1.7% in April, 1.5% in March, 1.5% in February and 1.9% in January 2012, the National Statistics Committee told.

In January-June 2012 Belarus’ consumer prices grew 10.5%.

In June, staple food prices went up 1.8% (up 11.7% since early January 2012); non-food prices increased 0.8% (up 6.9%), and service prices went up 3.8% (14.5%).

Belarus’ inflation grew 108.7% in 2011, while the original forecast for 2011 stood at 7.5%-8.5%. The government expects inflation to stay under 19-22% in 2012.
