OREANDA-NEWS. August 7, 2012. On August 11, 2012 UTair Aviation will convene its Visiting UTair airshow in Tyumen Plekhanovo airport. This year’s event will be dedicated to the Russian Air Force Day.

Traditionally the air show will offer spectators flight demonstrations with aircraft operated by UTair, including Boeing 737, the Tupolev Tu-134 and Tu-154, CRJ 200, ATR 42 and ATR 72, Antonov An-24 and An-74. The program features Mil Mi-26, the most weight lifting helicopter in the world, and Mi-8. Their professional crews will demonstrate maneuvers, including transportation of cargo, insertion, helibucket operations and search and rescue operations. The airshow will also feature demonstration flights of Eurocopter AS 355 and Robinson R-44 helicopters.

Residents and guests of Tyumen will have an excellent opportunity to see the city from a bird's eye view by participating in aerial tours of the city and its environs on An-2 aircraft and Mi-8 helicopters. Spectators also will enjoy skydiving demonstrations, performance of Russian Defence Sports and Techniques Organization’s aeromodellers and rocketmodellers, flights of private pilots on microlights and much more.

The airshow will feature solemn farewell ceremony of An-2 aircraft, which will make a flight on Tyumen-Kiev-Cape Town (South Africa) route. The flight is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of its maiden flight.

UTair Aviation  enters top three Russian airlines. In 2011 the company's aircraft transported 6,750,425 passengers. In January-June 2012 UTair Group has serviced 40.9% more passengers than in the same period of 2011. In 2012 the airline plans to increase transportation volumes to 10 million passengers. The airline operates more than 200 fixed wing aircraft and performs flights on 110 destinations. Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow is the airline’s main hub, from which it performs 100 daily flights.
