OREANDA-NEWS. August 7, 2012. Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems and representatives of the European company Thales Alenia Space are conducting negotiations regarding setting up a joint venture.

The Russian and French companies carry out activities in accordance with the Memorandum of understanding that stipulates conditions and schedule of work under which the venture is to be set. The document was signed in the presence of Russian and French premier ministers Vladimir Putin and Francois Fillon in November 2011.

In order to set up and register a joint venture in the territory of the Russian Federation, the partners are to define participation interest of each side in this project. Besides, the teams need to discuss project management, product quality and reliability assurance strategies currently pursued by ISS-Reshetnev and TAS as to choose optimal variants to be implemented in a joint venture.

According to Jean-Jacques Bruniera, Director for strategic initiatives of Thales Alenia Space, these meetings are really important since they help the two companies understand each other, and also they result in shared conclusions in terms of product quality and production time.

New level of partnership between ISS-Reshetnev and TAS has great significance not only for these two companies, but for the whole international space market as well. Having combined the latest advanced technologies, the Russian and European satellite builders will bring telecommunications spacecraft satisfying customers’ higher technical and commercial requirements.
