OREANDA-NEWS. August 8, 2012. 46 modern energy facilities will provide reliable power supply of the Olympic Games 2014. It was discussed at the meeting of the operational headquarters on the preparation of power generation facilities for the Olympic Games in Sochi. The meeting was headed by Alexander Novak, Russian Federation Energy Minister.

Participants of the meeting made a helicopter flight over Olympic energy facilities, and visited the Adler CHP. "We have a positive impression after inspection of the facilities. Energy companies have done great work. Many of the problem issues were successfully resolved. As a result, in the winter of 2010 and 2011 test events were successfully provided with power supply" – the Minister said.

16 facilities are already in operation. Nine more energy facilities will start operating in Sochi by the end of the year. The main launch of 2012 will be the commissioning of Adler CHP with the power of 360 MW.
