OREANDA-NEWS. August 8, 2012. At the construction site of power unit No.1 of Leningrad NPP-2 the last unit of circulation cooling water line # 1 is laid. The works have been performed by the lead assembly business unit of TITAN_2 Holding — JSC MSU-90.

Within the frames of this work the specialists of the organization have jointed and welded more than 700 tons of pipelines. The diameter of the process metal structures is 2.4metres, the weight being from 3 to 10 tons. The order for their manufacture was performed at the facilities of the holding's key business site - TITANIT, JSC.  The plant's specialists manufactured 670 tons of circulation water lines and 32 tons of non-standardized equipment with inspection holes. To perform this order for complicated pipelines, the design office of TITANIT has developed special engineering and process documentation.

The quality of welded joints was checked by the specialists from the quality assurance laboratory of JSC MSU-90 which is one of the best specialized laboratories in the North-West Federal District.

The next stage will be backfill of pipelines which has already been started by the representatives from another Holding's subsidiary — OJSC UAT.

Cooling water circulation lines will connect the water-treatment building of power unit No.1 and evaporative cooling tower No. 1.

Installation and Construction Directorate No. 90 was formed in 1968 and is the leading assembly business unit in TITAN-2 Holding. The specialists of MSU-90 perform all types of assembly for process equipment and pipelines, steel structures, including stainless steel metal facing, and welding work of any complexity. The organization has its own laboratory for quality control of welded units.
