OREANDA-NEWS. August 09, 2012. According to the CIS Statistics Committee, in January-June 2012 the volume of freight in Moldova decreased by 4.9% over the same period in 2011 and reached 3.9 million tons. The volume of freight traffic declined in Belarus - 2%, and Ukraine - 0.1%.

In the other CIS countries, the positive dynamics of the industry: in Tajikistan, the volume of cargo increased by 0.5% compared with January-June 2011, in Russia - by 3.2%, in Kyrgyzstan - 4,7%, in Azerbaijan - on 6.9%, in Armenia - by 10.7%, in Kazakhstan -%. Data for Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are not available.

In January-June 2012 the volume of freight traffic on average in the CIS grew by 8.7% over the same period last year and amounted to 3 billion 369.1 million tons. A year earlier, growth in freight volumes in the CIS was 11.8%, in Moldova - 26.6%.
