OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2012. As it was informed by the National Bureau of Statistics, over the past 12 months - from July 2011 to July 2012 - the consumer price index rose by 4%. In July last year there was a deflation of 0.1%, inflation in January-July 2011 was 4.9%, and 12 months - from July 2010 to July 2011 - 8.3%.

According to the NBS, at the same time, in July of 2012 food prices grew by 0.3%, non-food goods - by 0.1%. Fees for services rendered to the population have not changed. According to official statistics, in July, prices of meat, meat products and canned meat increased by 1.1%, including pork risen by 2.1%, beef and poultry - by 1.8% in both cases. Price of pork fat rose by 2.3%, sour cream and cream - by 1.9%, vegetables - by 4.5%.

 In particular, the onion went up by 54.9%, carrots - 8.9%, cucumber - by 1.5%. Among non-food prices in July rose prices for women sandals – by 0.7%, children suits and trousers for children - by 0.5%. Children's clothing, textiles, handbags and suitcases, personal hygiene items, building materials rose 0.5%.

The prices of cigarettes rose by 2.4%. At the same time, July showed decrease in prices for potatoes - by 11.7%, eggplant - by 21.2%, tomato - by 16.3%, pepper - 14%, beet - 8.6%, melons - by 7.8% , garlic - 2.7%, fresh mushrooms - 1.2%, diet egg - by 1.1%. Liquefied gas cylinders fell by 1.4%, oil - by 0.6%. In July, the tariffs for international rail transport rose by 1.7%, education and training services - by 0.2%, catering - by 0.1%.

As it was previously reported, the National Bank of Moldova has lowered its inflation forecast for 2012 by 1 percentage point - from 4.9% to 3.9%. Inflation in Moldova in 2011 amounted to 7.8%.
