OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2012. The Kiev Factory of Sparkling Wines “Stolichniy” and Mare Azzuro restaurant organized a sparkling wine evening. After a busy working day, the guests, among which there were top-managers of banks, insurance companies and marketing agencies, gathered together to drink a glass or two of sparkling wine. The import portfolio of the Kiev Factory of Sparkling Wines and the best examples of its own manufacture, among which there is the new TM Cuvee №1 were presented for the respected audience. The degustation was carried out by the Head Sommelier Association of Ukraine Dmitriy Sidorenko, who told the guests about the production methods of sparkling wines all over the world, gave some recommendations on the rules of drinking of sparkling wine and answered all degustators’ questions.

The first wine served as aperitif was alcohol-free SOHNLEIN BRILLANT. It’s a real top seller that is very popular among Ukrainians. The manufacturing technology of this wine allows achieving the same taste and fragrance as of the ordinary wine that contains alcohol. The only noticeable difference is a slightly different wine body. However, SOHNLEIN BRILLANT can be a real discovery for those who are always “at the wheel” and don’t drink alcohol at all. A long play of bubbles in this wine pleased the guests. The guests tried different sparkling wines manufactured at The Kiev Factory of Sparkling Wines. In particular it was brut Cuvee №1 that appeared on market only in 2011. This is the best blending and pride of the factory. Today this wine is being sold in various restaurants, including all restaurants of ‘Kozirnaja Karta’ family. The sugar content of the brut Cuvee №1 doesn’t exceed 1,5%, that’s why the fragrance and taste of wine grapes is “naked” in this beverage. To produce its best sparkling wine, The Kiev Factory of Sparkling Wines “Stolichniy” uses Chardonnay, Pinot and Rheinriesling wine grapes that are considered to be classical for sparkling wine production. The guests pointed out the very fine bouquet of this wine and called it ‘noble’.

The sparkling wine Cuvee №1 semisweet was also presented during that evening. This wine has a richer and sweet taste and took a liking to every ‘sweet tooth’. This wine is well combined with sweet fruits and desserts. The guests also tasted rose sparkling wine FURST VON METTERNICH rose and white HENKELL Blanc de blancs produced in Germany.

For dessert “Krimgrad” red, semisweet was served. This wine is produced of 100% Crimean wine grapes of Cabernet and Merlot sorts. This wine is characterized by rich red color, sweet fragrance of red pomegranate berries and some vegetable notes. Those who prefer sweet and rich beverages will certainly like this wine. It can be recommended as a dessert wine and as an accompaniment for sweet dishes.

Important is that the quality control of Kiev sparkling wine production is carried out according to German standard that allows achieving stability.

The sparkling wine evening was very cordial: the degustation in a friendly atmosphere relaxed the guests and gave them an opportunity to get to know many interesting and new facts about wines with sparkling bubbles. Someone found new and original sparkling wine and someone found a direction to look for their perfect sparkling wine.
