The Carolina Panthers have upgraded their in-stadium fan experience for the 2012 season by adding more than 460 Wi-Fi access points that will bring free AT&T Wi-Fi Internet to fans' fingertips everywhere from concession stands, to seats and concourse areas, reported the press-centre of AT&T.

Located in Charlotte, N.C., Bank of America Stadium is a 70,000-plus seat facility and home to the Carolina Panthers, Atlantic Coast Conference Championship game and many other college bowl games and special events.

Bank of America Stadium is now equipped with more than 460 AT&T Wi-Fi access points.
Fans with a Wi-Fi enabled AT&T smartphone or tablet can easily and automatically connect to the AT&T Wi-Fi network, without any setup or log-in required. 
Also, fans with a Wi-Fi enabled smartphone or tablet can easily connect to the AT&T network through a simple log-in.
Use of the Wi-Fi service is free to the user. Wi-Fi data usage does not count towards AT&T users’ monthly smartphone data plans, offering fans the ability to surf the web, update their social networking sites or upload and send photos to friends without worrying about their monthly bill.

AT&T customers have access to an AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Zone in downtown Charlotte, providing another option for a fast data connection in a high traffic area.

AT&T will directly manage the network and provide customer support around the clock, which greatly benefits the quality of service and bandwidth management at the stadium.

AT&T and The Carolina Panthers are bringing more Wi-Fi coverage to Charlotte as Wi-Fi connections and usage grow in the Charlotte area. In the third quarter of 2011, consumers made more than 1.9 million connections to AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots in the Charlotte area and residents of the area have access to more than 180 AT&T Wi-Fi venues such as stadiums, hospitality locations, retail venues and restaurants. AT&T operates the nation's largest Wi-Fi network among wireless carriers with more than 30,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots in the U.S. and access to nearly 220,000 hotspots globally through roaming agreements.
