OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2012. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov deems it necessary to build a modern seeds plant in the Poltava region. He said this during a working visit to the Poltava region.

"Of course, a seeds factory has to be in the Poltava region. Moreover, its construction not requires significant financial resources and the effect of its construction will be significant," said Mykola Azarov.

Moreover, the Prime Minister acquainted with the state of late grain crops, particularly corn. He underscored that through hot weather grain harvest this year would be lower compared to last year's record one. However, due to the Government's actions, emphasized Mykola Azarov, price stability concerning the product group would be ensured.

As previously it was reported, this year in Ukraine, grain will be harvested down 8 million tons from the past one, but it in any way doesn't trigger off a rise in prices for bread.

"Despite the fact that this year we will have harvest by 8 million tons less than last year, food grains to be 1.5 times more than we need. Plus, we have established reserves: we currently have 1.5 million tons of grain in the Agrarian Fund and in Reserve Fund - 0.5 million tons, that is, we have 2 million tons of grain in reserve. This is one third of annual needs of the country's food grain. What is the need to raise the price? We will definitely not allow it. The price of food, these are bread, meat milk, butter will be stable," emphasized Mykola Azarov during a working trip to the Zaporizhzhia region on August 2.
