The largest Russian online shop ozon.ru started selling unique mini-terminals that allow a person to accept payments by bank cards from any smartphone, tablet or computer. As reported at PrivatBank. which introduces the technology of cashless payments in Russia, the mini-terminals are available almost for free. Its cost of RUR100 will be reimbursed to the purchaser upon the first payment made via the mini-terminal.

"While the world's major players only announce accepting payments by cards through smartphones, our terminals have been successfully working in Ukraine, Russia, Latvia and other countries for more than a year. Only in Ukraine more than 3 thousand new mini-terminals are enabled monthly, - said Alexander Vityaz, PrivatBank’s Deputy Chairman. - The daily turnover in mini-terminals exceeds USD30,000 that is a sizeable amount for small payments with average payment of about USD10."

Owing to the new technology developed by Ukrainian PrivatBank, the possibility to make a payment by cards is now available anywhere - in taxis, at notary's offices,  marketplaces,  kiosks and for rent payments. In fact, any individual or a legal entity in Russia now can easily accept payments by Visa/MasterCard cards for business or personal purposes, through a smartphone without using any special expensive equipment.

The  mini-terminal should be connected to a computer or a mobile device through a headphone jack. You need to download a free iPay application either from the bank’s website, App Store or Google play to accept payments by Visa and MasterCard cards. The application is also available for Windows, MacOS and Linux users. Fee for accepting payments made by PrivatBank’s cards is at 1.5% and 2.7% - for payments by cards of other banks. Revenue can be credited to a card or a bank account at the customer’s option.
