OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2012. In the International Training Centre of the Central Institute for Continuing Education and Training (CICE&T) the course on "Russian computer codes for safety analysis" for the faculty members of ISEU of Republic of Belarus started up. CICE&T and ISEU bind successful cooperation in capacity building to support the Belarusian National Nuclear Programme, reported the press-centre of ROSATOM.

Cooperation of these institution follow the "train-the-trainers" approach.

Last year the faculty members of the ISEU completed the course on “Reactor Island: Physics and Equipment for Engineers” that was provided in the CICE&T branch in Balakovo in association with the Personnel Training Center of Balakovo NPP.

The course on computer codes is associated with the simulation of physical and chemical processes at NPP based on computer code "CUPOL". As the case study the trainees will simulate the processes that led to the accumulation of hydrogen in the containment building of Japanese Fukushima Daiichi NPP. The training in Obninsk aims to build the competence in the field of the safety analysis of NPP.

The course was developed within the framework of the ROSATOM Project “Development of international cooperation and export of nuclear education” and complies with the SAT approach recommended by the IAEA.
