President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov considers the projects aimed at further modernization of the infrastructure of air traffic of the country, including construction of a new International airport in the Turkmen capital, new air terminal in Turkmenabat, as well as modernization of the airport in Dashoguz. These projects were drafted and submitted to the Turkmen leader for consideration by foreign companies – Polimeks and Belda (the Turkish Republic) as well as the “Altcom Financial and Industrial Group” Limited Liability Company.

In the morning the Turkmen leader arrived to the Ashgabat International airport, where the presentation of new projects took place. Vice Premiers A. Gochyev, A. Egeleev and R. Seitkuliev as well as the heads of sectoral ministries and departments met the Turkmen leader at the airport.

An integral part of the complex strategy for development of the transport sphere in Turkmenistan is improvement and modernization of the national civil aviation infrastructure that plays an important role in the passenger traffic and goods transportation both in internal and international routes. The specific successive steps are taken in this direction. Thus, in 2009 a new air terminal was opened in Mary and in 2010 a new International airport opened was put into operation in Turkmenbashi.

Among them is the project on construction of a new International airport in Ashgabat. The project was drafted by an old partner of our country – the Polimeks Turkish Construction Company. CEO of Polimeks Erol Tabanca presented the project of the new air harbour drafted in line with the Turkmen leader’s instructions, recommendations and suggestions to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The acceptance rate of the new Ashgabat air terminal is 1,600 passengers per hour. The project envisages construction of three terminals – passenger, VIP, freight terminal, 3,800-meter new artificial runway, taxiways, parking places, ramps, air-traffic control tower as well as reconstruction of the existing artificial runway.

The territory of the complex will host administrative buildings, enterprises of the Turkmenistan aviation transport, technical and other specialized services, centralized fuel-supply station, etc. Moreover, a school for training specialists for aviation, medical, sports and health-improving centers, a hotel for transit visitors designed for 200 places and indoor car parking. The project also envisages all necessary engineering, technological and supply transport communications.

After thoroughly considering the projects, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made some comments and recommendations. The Turkmen leader said the new airport in Ashgabat should be supplied with the most advanced equipment and should satisfy the high international standards. As of the architectural design of the air terminal, it should harmoniously combine original ideas, advanced trends, innovative technologies as well as the elements of the national architecture.

Then President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov considered the project on construction of the new air terminal with acceptance rate of 500 passengers per hour in Turkmenabat drafted by the specialists of the “Altcom Financial and Industrial Group” Limited Liability Company. It should be noted that the company has significant experience in this sphere.

The project drafted by our Ukrainian partners envisages construction of three terminals – passenger, VIP, and freight terminal, 3,800-meter new artificial runway, taxiways, parking places, ramps, air-traffic control tower as well as a number of other relevant facilities. The territory of the complex will host a medical center, canteen, hotel for 100 places, and indoor car parking. The project envisages all necessary life support systems to be installed in the airport as well as leading engineering and transport communications.

Commenting on the projects the Turkmen leader made some recommendations and comments to Ukrainian designers and architects. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Altcom Financial and Industrial Group” Limited Liability Company Alexander Tislenko assured the Turkmen leader that the company would strictly follow the requirements set by the client.

Within the framework of the presentation the Turkmen leader got acquainted with the project on modernization of the airport in Dashoguz prepared by the specialists of the Belda Turkish Construction Company.

The project envisages construction of the 3,800-meter new artificial runway, taxiways, parking places, ramps, air-traffic control tower as well as reconstruction and expansion of the existing ramp, creation of the centralized fuel-supply station and a number of other facilities and systems.

Commenting on the projects presented by the Ukrainian and Turkish partners, the President of Turkmenistan made some recommendations noting that while design and build such objects it was necessary to use the advance engineering and technological ideas, innovative technologies and the best world experience in this sphere. The airports in the administrative centers of Lebap and Dashoguz regions should satisfy the advanced requirements and international standards, first of all guaranteeing the safety of flights and the high level of serving passengers, the Turkmen leader noted.

Upon conclusion of the ceremony, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting with the heads of ministries and sectoral departments at the airport. The meeting agenda focused on the measures to be taken to ensure the well-coordinated organization of internal and international flights and free takeoff and landing of transit ad freight air carriers.

The President of Turkmenistan noted that the services provided should meet the best national traditions of hospitality and, along with it, fully satisfy the international standards. Summing up everything mentioned above the Turkmen leader demanded the meeting participants to ensure the well-coordinated work on construction of the new airport.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the heads of the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Construction of Turkmenistan to provide the projects on construction of new air terminals in Ashgabat and Turkmenabat as well as the infrastructure facilities in Dashoguz with all necessary construction materials.

Underlining that the future objects mentioned above should satisfy the high international standards, the Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to the Chairman of the Turkmenstandartlary Main State Service of Turkmenistan. The President of Turkmenistan also demanded the heads of the financial and banking sector of the country to settle the issues regarding financing of the construction projects.

The Turkmen leader instructed the relevant officials to establish a consortium aimed at ensuring the practical implementation of the above-mentioned projects.

Then the President of Turkmenistan left the Ashgabat International airport and headed to the motor terminal, where the Chairman of the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service M. Ayazov reported on the work carried out by the Service, the measures taken to strengthen its material and technical basis and modernize the airports in all regions of the country. M. Ayazov noted that due to the efforts taken by the President of Turkmenistan the fleet of the Service had been systematically replenished and three new Boeing air crafts would be delivered to Turkmenistan in 2013.

Commenting on the report, the President of Turkmenistan noted that the Government would systematically replenish the fleet of the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service and strengthen its material and technical basis. Noting that the new airport should be supplied with the most advanced equipment, the Turkmen leader underlined the necessity of increasing the professional level of its specialists as well as the quality and range of services provided to population. The President of Turkmenistan noted that particular attention should be paid to the design of the new airport.

Giving specific instructions to the relevant officials and wishing them success in their work, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left the venue.
