OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2012. Members of the Expert Council at the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) for developing competition in social sphere and health care discussed the issues of promoting competition in health care, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

As a result of discussing problems and proposals towards developing competition on the pharmaceutical market and the market of medical services, the Council decided to polish up the proposed measures. The Council will also form a working group for devising a plan for developing competition in social sphere.

Proposals devised by the Expert Council will be forwarded to the Ministry of Economic Development to be included in the general action plan towards developing competition in the Russian Federation.

The Expert Council of the Federal Antimonopoly Service for Developing Competition in Social Sphere and Health Care was formed to facilitate developing in health care and social sphere, as well as to consider whether the federal executive bodies, the authorities of the constituent territories of the Russian Federation, local self-government bodies, other bodies and organizations exercising the functions of the above bodies comply with the antimonopoly law of the Russian Federation in social sphere and health care.

The Expert Council is a FAS consultative-advisory body; its decisions are recommendatory.
