OREANDA-NEWS.  August 23, 2012. Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov instructed to immediately propose measures to support the metal and engineering industries. Such a task was set by the PM at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The Prime Minister, describing the economic situation, said that the preliminary estimate of GDP of Ukraine for January-July of this year showed GDP growth by two per cent.

“This is not bad given the crisis in the Eurozone - one of our main markets. However, this is obviously not enough to significantly improve life in Ukraine” – Mykola Azarov said.

According to the State Statistics Service, in July, compared with June, the industry achieved an output up 3%. The increase was mainly due to mining and electricity production.

But, according to Mykola Azarov, there were problems in metallurgists and mechanical engineers productions.
